Dean - thanks for the VERY informative and helpful video, it's a real gem and, as you say, it's very difficult to find all of this information all in one spot. (if you only see black through your telescope, please click "Read more") For newbie reflector owners (which i was when i wrote this comment), the first thing to do before any of these steps id to COLLIMATE the telescope - a fancy word for aligning the two mirrors. It’s a 2-step process: 1 - align the secondary mirror 2 - align the primary mirror Here is a link on how to do this for an Orion reflector, without any special tools: ua-cam.com/video/YAVGcGEBmCE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=OrionTelescopes%26Binoculars the process is about the same for any reflector. If not properly aligned, you wont see much with your new instrument & will have a hard time doing the other steps.

One major correction to an otherwise funny and informative video, you should set your "dial" to the latitude of your location, not the longitude. Now go out and use that damn thing. 😂🔭

I am considering buying this one but in another video I believe you (was it you?) said that its throttle is either full or nothing, right? No progressive accelerator? If that is true, that is a no go for me. A shame, as I liked it a lot.

The thing is that you never got to the point of actually making the telescope usable to look though so I'm wondering what was the point of this video....I bought one for Christmas for my son and instantly regretted it because you can't see anything through it no matter what you do it doesn't work..For 200 plus dollars it's a darn shame..

Very good. I just set my latitude and point it north and it works well enough for me. It is a pain at first, At first I did not know that you had to rotate the telescope in the rings to see through the eyepiece in certain configurations but I am figuring it out. Thanks
